Question about data of flights climbed

Hi Fitbitters!

I am now the proud owner of a Surge. Just set it up yesterday and integrated to other apps that I use. Ihave a few questions and this is the first one...

Today I logged three activities with GPS (bike ride to a friends place, walk with friend and bike ride back). My friend lives on the 5th floor of an apartment block. I climbed 5 floors to his apartment and the climbed back down to go for a walk. Then upon return we climbed to the 6th floor roof before going down one floor to his 5th floor apartment. I expected to see my tracker and the app to show 11 flights climbed. Instead, both show only 6 flights climbed Man Surprised

At first I thought the 5 flights in the beginning were cancelled out by the flights descended when we went for a walk. However that logic doesn't work, as upon return we climbed 6 flights and descended 1, so the aggregate should have been 5 flights. Also, when I descended for teh last time to ride back home, it would have come back to zero...

I have restarted the tracker and the app and also the web dashboard, but the count remains at 6 flights. Does anyone have any advice on how the tracker / app interpret the data to come 6 flights? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi @ZafarSami! You're right, you should be seeing 11 flights of stairs. However, I've found that the altimeter (which works by detecting pressure changes and equating that to flights of stairs) is a bit flaky and regularly undercounts flights for me. Restarting the tracker is about all you can do.
