Finally a similar experience.
Mine is the Fitbit Surge, and it is wildly inaccurate. My wife has a Garmin, & we walked side by side around the Bay Run at Rozelle. We had to park over a km from the start, meaning the whole walk was about 10 kms. My Fitbit registered 5,000 steps, her Garmin registered 13,000 !! We were walking exactly the same course !! I have walked on flat ground in the Botanic Gardens, checked the steps on the Fitbit & counted 100 steps, & stopped & checked count - I have done this dozens of times & always get 34 steps or 36 steps. I have walked briskly & checked the count, then walk EXACTLY the same course but very slowly with my son, & get double the step count over the same walk, when walking slowly. Seems the faster I walk the lower the count, but always wildly out.
Very, very disappointed.
