I understand you can create custom activities, record them as a "workout" on the surge, and edit them later to your custom activity.
So I created one for "gliding", and went for a flight earlier, recording it as a "workout" and then changing it; but the GPS information wasn't preserved.
I'm hoping to record location, altitude and heart rate for these flights; all of which the Surge is technically capable of doing. Any suggestions of the best way to make it do it?

GPS will not work on an Airplane Sorry
Surge is technically capable of doing. It has it limits and Air flight is not one of them

Best AnswerIs does work. If I recorded the whole thing as a "Bike" activity, it would have position, altitude and heart rate; which are all the things I need. The only thing that would be wrong is the title, but for some reason we can't seem to rename bike activities, but we can with "workout" activities.
Are there any location-tracking activities we can rename?
Best AnswerUsing the workout mode will not turn on the GPS . Using the bike mode means the type of exercise can not be changed.
