I'm a disabled Veteran. Walking can be an interesting endevor for me. Walk 2 or 3 blocks and spend the next 2 or 3 days on pain meds to recover.
So I look at the fitbit's exercise options, and see that "Run" is default and can't be removed. I can't run.... Hasn't been an option in my life in over 30 years. So why do I NEED to have this as a listed exercise on the watch? (Personally, I DON'T, which is why I want to get rid of it.) I know I can bypass it, but it's just one more step to get to the options I DO want to use.
I bought this device to use for riding my trike. (MY mobility device.) To help me track a way to something healthier. And I'm finding so many limits with it, I'm wondering if I made a good choice in the purchase.

Hey there @MikeG6.5! Hope you're having a great day! Thanks a lot for all this information, I understand your point, sorry that you feel that way. I think that as Fitbit Surge is advertised as a Fitness Super Watch some options in the tracker come by default, for example the "Walk and Run" shortcuts. This is a really good suggestion. I apologize for the misunderstanding that it might caused as Fitbit has been designed to provide motivation and help you to reach your daily goals to success; we never meant be abrasive!
I recommend to post this information in our Feature Suggestions board where our developers can check what our Fitbitters need and take this in consideration for the next updates.
In case that you don't have the instructions on how to add and remove other activities from the Shortcut on your Surge. Go to the Fitbit App > Account > Surge > Shortcuts.
I'll be around, in case you need anything else!
