Resting heart rate inaccurate logging too low

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My resting heart rate is logging to the Dashboard way too low. My RH rate on my watch was 70 at the same time I did my first sync this morning and it logged to the dashboard as 66. This inaccurate reading has happened ever since last week when it was not logging anyones resting heart rate for that day.

That was approx. 2/24 and got resolved at around 5pm (CST). Again since then the reading on the Dashboard is low and does not reflect what is on my Surge at the time of the sync (morning).

Here is the link to that issue:

I'm confused.

Are you implying that what your Surge is reporting at the moment of sync is what your calcuated RHR should be reported as on the dashboard? Where is RHR shown on the Surge?

Maybe Fitbit actually fixed whatever method they were calcuating RHR as and the new value is correct?

(FWIW - My RHR reported on the dashboard is within the range it has always been reporting (55 to 58 bpm) - even prior to the down time issue last week.)

My resting Heart rate has been registering when I first get up in the morning (via dongle/laptop) basically on the 1st or 2nd sync. That was the resting heart rate that was and is displyed on the Dashboard throughout the entire day until the next morning. I been using this measurement since fitbit made it available.

If FitBit made an adjustment on this they should tell us?

Fitbit is not generally responsive to such requests. Even if more people announce that they see hugh difference between pre-2/24 and post-2/24 RHR, it is not likely Fitbit would admit to changing anything. Asking this of the "moderators" here isn't useful - as they really don't know anything technical beyond "reset your tracker", and "uninstall the app and reinstall it." Not much of a "Product Help" team.

Honestly, other than the vague FAQ about what they look at, they've never shared how (specifics) they determine RHR, so I don't see them doing so now.

I am not asking them to share info. I would like them to look into it. It seems that they mointor these communities and things get mysteriously resolved. I can always open a ticket but it's not that critical yet.
