Run/walk interval on Surge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I would like to program my Surge for a run/walk interval time, but can't figure it out.  I.e. Run for 4 mins, Surge will vibrate, walk for 30 sec, Surge will vibrate, run for 4 min, and so on....Looking for assistance on how to set up interval timer like this. Thank you!

See page 20 of the manual to learn about how to program splits. This may be what you are looking for.

There is no way to do this on the Surge.

Awesome help @SunsetRunner! Nice to see you here @GershonSurge and @Bosnhanson! As @SunsetRunner mentioned in his post above, check the page 20 of the product manual to check how to Track Your Splits During a Run.

I hope to see you around more often! 😉

Programming SPLITS is not the same as INTERVALS. A split will tell you every X number of minutes or X number of miles how you are doing. An interval timer usually is set-up with TWO or more times/distances that don't give you information on how you are doing at that SPLIT, but a signal/vibration/buzz to CHANGE what you are doing. For instance, an INTERVAL RUNNER may want to run for 2 minutes feel a buzz and switch to walking to 30 seconds, feel a buzz and move back to 2 minutes...etc. They aren't looking for "what's my pace at this split?" A good example of an app that does both is Runkeeper which gives folks the option to hear audio cues about how they are doing at a distance and pace AND also allows to set interval cues. I wish people would stop telling folks that fitbit devices can SIGNAL INTERVALS when they don't. People waste a lot of money on fitbit devices that don't have an INTERVAL SIGNAL function. Right now I think only the Charge 2 actually allows programming intervals.

Oh no! I had a charge 2 and had intervals programmed. I lost it and just bought the surge assuming it would let me program intervals and it won't?? Crap!!!!

It's a shame that interval based programs cannot be done on surge.

Any roadmap for this to happen ?

So right now, I do the timer and set it,, it vibrates, then I swipe right and do the stop watch for a minute. It's a pain, but better than nothing. So at least the timer vibrates.
