Second band - second time bubbling

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got my first Fitbit Surge back near the end of January and by May I had this issue where the band started bubbling up. I didn't think much of it and within a couple of weeks there were multiple bubbles all over the thing. Contacted support, they told me to send it in and about three weeks later I had a new watch. I was a little irriated being without a watch, but whatever it got replaced.

Now it's September and I'm seeing the same exact issue happening again. I know the bands aren't replaceable, so the only course of action is to get a replacement. Has anyone had luck in getting Fitbit to switch out their Surge for another device? I don't want to get my watch replaced every four months because the bands are defective.

I am now on my 3rd FitBit, and I was told this was the "NEW Surge that fixed the bubble", and guess what? Yup, it's bubbling.  I think I'm moving to another brand as I'm tired of having to replace the product every few months.  And with the 1 year warranty about to end in a few months, I'm sure I'll be told "Sorry but here's a 25% discount for your next purchase" like they did when my Flex had issues.

Hi @Stonecoldfreak1, welcome to the Community! I'm very sorry to hear about the issue that you are having again with your second Fitbit Surge. In this case, if your tracker still under the 1 year warranty, which starts since the date of purchase, a replacement might be processed and sent to you. In addition, I will take your comments and pass them as feedback to our team.

@SunsetRunner, so you did you use the cyanolit-gel on the wristband and prevent another bubble from forming? Nice advice, thanks for sharing it!

@Banzai5150, Oh! sounds pretty bad that you are having this issue again. Believe me, I totally understand where your concern is coming from, but our limited warranty provides replacements for trackers deemed to have a manufacturer's defect within 365 days of purchase. In this case, because your tracker didn't meet these warranty conditions, we offered a courtesy discount of 25% good towards the purchase of any tracker.

Let me know if you have questions or comments! I'll be around!
