Second hand surge sync'd with old contacts

Hi, I love my Charge HR and hubby decided he wanted a surge so got a second hand one in perfect condition for him today. We completed set up, got a new account for him and paired it with his phone with no issues. However call and text notifications weren't working and I still cant add him to my friends list. Checked his contacts so he can find me and there are hundreds of emails he doesn't know in there. Could the tracker still somehow be linked to the last owners phone? Any advice would be great!

please try a restart of the fitbit if you haven't tried this yet.  This should clear out the texts and the call notifications.

here are the step by step directions:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Fitbit Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.
