Hi everyone, 

 

i hope you can help me! I'm getting a bit frustrated! 

 

I have brought myself a fitbit Surge today and I am struggling to set it up. 

I have got the Surge to connect to my Fitbit app on my phone but it won't update and won't get off the 'let's get started page' 

 

whenever I have tried to update it a message saying 'fbblutoothdomainerror 8' appears. Has anyone's elses done this? If so how do I fix it?

If you just bought it....return it and buy ANY other fitbit....the Surge is garbage

 

I bought a surge, 4 month later the band came apart.  I called fitbit support and they sent me a replacement so I was very happy with customer service.  3 months later the band came apart in the same way. Again, called customer support and they replaced it. This one lasted 5 months...once again they replaced it. FOURTH surge, the band lasted 2 weeks. Keep in mind, I work at a desk...I do not shower with it, I do not work out in it (although being what the product is, I should be able to sweat while wearing it, but you see my issue with that) I do not get it wet, etc.

 

Reading reviews, I see I am not the only person (or the 100th person) with this issue. Here is where fitbit customer service finally had a hiccup.  Their compromise was to offer me 10% off a different fitbit. Why in the world would I choose to spend more money with a company that has already sent me 4 defective products? I am currently researching which of the competing companies to give my business to (garmin, Samsung, etc)

Do the initial setup on a PC, then add it to your phone afterwards.
