Sleep Log

After syncing my Fitbit is only recognizing the first half of my sleep. I was up in the middle of the night for about an hour. The log has me waking up just before 3am which is correct. But when I try to add sleeping from 4am to 6:30 am, it says there is already a log during that time. But I can't see it on the sleep log. What am I missing here?

@JHanna0422 welcome aboard! That sounds kind of weird. Hey, just out of curiosity have you tried restarting your Surge by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Fitbit Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.

After you've restarted your tracker keep an eye on its behavior on the following nights to verify its recordings. Also, make sure you're following these steps to correct your sleep time. You could also try to modify the sleep sensitivity by going to your Device's settings. The two options provided are the normal setting, which counts significant movements as being awake (such as rolling over) and is appropriate for most users; and the sensitive setting, which will cause your tracker to record nearly all movements as time spent awake. This setting may be helpful for users with sleep disorders, or those who wear their tracker somewhere other than the wrist while asleep.

Hope this helps, keep me posted with the outcome! Cat Tongue

I have my surge set for normal sleep.  It has been logging me as awake for many hours that I was asleep and my sleep log looks like I get 2-4 hours of sleep every night.  When I go to the log page and try to change the numbers and put in my real bedtime and awake time, it says there is already a log there.  I am using the edit box, and not the add a new log.  The web page used to give the option of "previous day" when changing the start sleep from am to pm.  for example, if I change my sleep start time from 1AM to 10PM, it used to allow you to check "previous day."

I have restarted my fitbit several times since it started having problems with the sleep cycle.  It got really confused when I was on a cruise and I uncerstand that.  I am home now.

@PattiWagen thanks for stopping by! Wow, that sounds pretty weird. I was going to suggest a restart but it seems like you've tried that already. So, my recommendation would be to contact our Support Team for further research. They definitely have the tools to take a deeper look into your tracker's behavior.

Good luck and keep me posted!  Cat Very Happy
