Hi everyone,
I have had my fitbit Surge for a few years and it is now telling me that I must update the software before I can use it again but it won't let me. I have checked the bluetooth settings on my phone and fitbit and they are both on and connected but it won't find the tracker to update the software. I have tried turning both devices on and off again as sometimes I do have problems syncing my device and that helps but alas not this time! I have resorted to plugging it into my computer but there doesn't seem to be an option to download that way. So basically I have a fitbit that I can't sync or update 😞 any words of wisdom before I throw it out the window in pure frustration! Thank you everyone x

Hi @Heaney the firmware version for the Surge is currently 16.34.6.1 and the app version you have is based on which phone operating system you have. You can't update your Surge via the computer unless you've set up for it with Fitbit Connect.

Thanks - it won't connect to the phone to install the update. It just keeps saying that my fitbit isn't switched on or can not be found. I have read somewhere that if you hold in the left button and bottom right button it resets it but even that won't turn it off. The home screen says configuration and then fitbit.com/setup - I am losing the will.

I got a new one but i also have an old one which won't work either - I am just having zero joy!
