Surge Acting Up

Yesterday on my walk my Surge stopped tracking my progress just after I passed the 4 mile mark.  It resumed again about 1 mile later.  Today it appears my touch screen no longer functions.  This Surge is just over a year old.  What gives?

Thanks for all the help.  I think my Surge is dying.  None of the suggestions worked, and now the Surge randomly stops keeping the time for 15 minutes, then begins again.  I think it's time to check out other fitness trackers.

Maybe try a restart of your watch, do it at least 3 times and see if that helps. Unfortunately if it's older than 12 months unless you live or bought in Europe then it's 24 months then your warranty has run out and fitbit support may offer you a 25% discount on a new tracker. I would read they forums before deciding what to do if that is they case. Good luck,  I hope the restart works!

Thanks.  I'll give this a try.

UPDATE:  All Surge owners heed!  After trying all the suggestions posted here I gave up on my Surge.  My 6-year old grandson noticed I wasn't wearing it and wanted to know why.  After I filled him in on my problems, he suggested (yes, this is a solution from a 6-year old very precocious Fitbit fan) that I allow the battery to fully discharge, wait a day, then recharge the thing.  It worked!  I've used it for nearly a week and it's performing as it should.  "And a little child shall lead them...' (I read that somewhere).  Anyway, it was worth a shot and it worked.

I've seen the "power run down" fix suggested here by a number users to resolve various issues. It must be that certain settings or cached data doesn't get deleted even with a hard restart. Maybe your grandson should apply for a job with Fitbit support. Smiley Wink
