I ended up finding a replacement band on amazon. It was relatively easy to change out. It's a shame Fitbit doesn't offer this option as I don't know how long this one will last. So far it's good and only cost me 20.00.

Fitbit replaced entire Surge the first time. Wouldn't sell me just the band. Hardly a year old then. Now, the replacement Surge's band literally fell off less than a year old. The solution is to offer a new Surge at a 25% discount.
I won't buy another defective product.
Too bad as we have 3 Flex and an Alta HR that work. I can't recommend the Surge with its history.

That's exactly what happened to me. Why buy a new watch when all you need is a band. I'm glad I came across a couple of companies who decided to take advantage of Fitbits poor design and make a band. I'm hoping it last but $20 is better than spending hundreds on another fitbit.

Hello!
Just want to share a photo of my 3:rd fitbit surge withing 24 months. It´s sad... About the same problem with the last 2... Fitbit Support have replaced them all times since under 2 year warranty...but I don´t bother to ask now...since its a week over warranty period. I think this Surge thing was a prototype smart watch from the start... The band design a big misstake from Fitbit. I don´t understand why Surge model is still on the market.
I will try the amazing amazon band you are talking about in this tread, and support my son with a uplift from his now old and steady fitbit flex.
Myself...I will go for a applewatch 2:nd gen and hope Fitbit will release a app for it! Otherwise I will fade out from this community....
Have a nice day!
/Jesper

My 2nd surge in 18 month. First one started to come apart at the screws after 6 months or so. Now had this about 8 months. I like the surge (when it's not falling apart) but won't be buying another.
