Surge Dead-end

Today's my last day with the Surge and Fitbit.

I received mine for Christmas, 2015 and used it every day. In February of this year, the band broke. You know the details - one year warranty but no repairs on anything.

So, I bought a third-party band and replaced it myself. All was good.

Last Sunday, the touchscreen worked intermittently. Appeared that there was moisture in the display. Ultimately, the face had a fractured or shattered appearance and the touch no longer worked. But, I had my preferred exercise available from the right button, so I still got most of what I needed (+sleep, steps, etc.)

Today, the unit no longer syncs to the app. Tried resets, removal... nothing.

With my only option being buying a new Surge (at a modest discount per Fitbit support), I can't justify the expense after only 18 months with the expectation it will just happen all over again.

About the pull the trigger on a Garmin. Not sure how I reconcile the Fitbit Aria scale to my new vendor and app, but Fitbit leaves me no choice.

Goodbye, Fitbit,

Glenn

@glenn228 Best of luck. When my last Surge dies I'll be joining you with a Vivoactive HR, chest strap sensor, and sensor for my bike!

Not sure what I will replace mine with, but my first one did get replaced due to errors it was having.  This one has the same issues, but also never syncs on its own.  I'm really kinda done.
