Surge Strap problem

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Anyone else encountering this problem?  Bought a surge for my husband October last year.  Within a couple of months the strap below the watch face had started to bubble up and come away from the face.  Once it started, within 24 hours is was completely removed from the watch face casing.  Fitbit were terrific and replaced with a new watch.  Last week, the same problem occurred with the new watch, in exactly the same place.  Again, fitbit were very kind and offered a replacement which we've accepted.  However, I'm wondering if there's a design issue.  My own surge is well over a year old and no issues accept general wear. 20170422_101658.jpg

  • I got he offer of a 25% discount. A watch that lasts just a few months?  It's a disgrace. They have lost me as a customer. Their stuff is rubbish. I have an Aria too that weighs differently by 5 or 6 pounds if you step on and off. Fitbit products are junk.

Apparently it is not now under warranty. This one that is failing is already a replacement. They are junk. Neither lasted for more than six months and my wife had a different model that stopped working after just over a year. Fitbit is cheap rubbish. I'm outa here!

I have just sent a help ticket in for mine.  This is my second device that has this bubbling problem.

Got a quick response today from fitbit (I submitted ticket online) and replied to their question about what country I reside in.  I received a quick response to that with an order request to choose 50% off next purchase or a full replacement.  I chose full replacement because I cant wait that long for the surge2 with my current surge being in the condition it is in otherwise I would have chose the 50% off.

I love fitbit and just because the band is inferior it will not change my attitude. I use mine everyday and it gets it usage quite literally.  I just hope this replacement lasts longer that this last replacement.

The replacement is made from the same material and has the same design. On what basis are you pinning your hopes on? The shear number of Surge band complaints in this forum would indicate that this isn't a random chance occurrence.

Of course this isn't a random chance occurrence......this product is faulty. This company thrives on selling product worth a few quid for hundreds of quid and hoping that its customers continually upgrade. Not me. I'm not an idiot.

My watch is doing the same and this is my second one which I got as a replacement by Fitbit .but this one is going the same way I've messaged Fitbit and going through the say situation again and waiting to see what happens next . Any ideas

@Deggers12 If it's just the band (and no longer under warranty), E-bay and Amazon sell aftermarket replacement bands and YouTube has videos on "how to." Good luck.

Yes this is a common problem that I am tired of. On my second band and it just did it again. Don't know how the most expensive watch seems to have such a horrible band that hasn't lasted past a year.

I am on my second band and so good so far. However I am disappointed that a company such as Fitbit hasn't fixed this manufacturing problem.

My strap fell apart as well.  Fitbit offered me 25% too. I purchased a replacement strap from Amazon for $15.  So sad that Fitbit does not offer replacement straps.  Saved me a lot of $$$.

Amazon sells replacements for $15.

I was wondering if there were a way to buy just a strap and unscrew the old band? I'm having the same issue, and it's causing skin problems under the screw.

The one you bought was then they sent me another one and it's going in the same place already and this one is about 10 months old so it might be if they classed it as a new warranty . I was surprised on the offer let's see lol . I will see how it goes if this doesn't last I won't be impressed thought about trying a different style watch
