Surge battery not longer working

i have had a surge for just over 2 years the battery is no longer holding its charge, it only last for roughly 6 hours being used only as a watch/step counter, i have contacted fitbit done all the tests to show this as they have asked and they agree watch battery not working/faulty but say i need to BUY another one, i have purchased fitbits since the start and perceived them to be a good quality product until now, in my opinion a £200 watch should last longer than just over 2 years, i have a garmin forerunner watch that i have had for about 10 years the battery is still going strong in that so why cant fitbit make batteries to last? i will think very carefully about the next fitness watch i buy as i want my purchase to last longer than 2 years £100 a year!!!!!!!!! way too expensive

Hi @lfiecat2, nice to see you in the Community, your comments are important for us! Woman Happy

Thank you for the thorough feedback for the Fitbit environment, customer service, platform and devices. This has not gone unnoticed and be sure that I will pass this along. Several factors affect your Surge battery, I'm sure you've done multiple things to fix the issue as you mentioned that you already contacted our Support Team but you can always check this information, it might be useful to you!

For example cleaning the contacts of your tracker regularly as they might be obstructed by microscopic dirt or debris that prevents them from making a good connection to the charger. Use a toothpick or toothbrush to clean the charging contacts; do not scrape them with anything metal because this may damage the plating and result in corrosion.

You can also try to restart your Surge if you haven't do so. And check these tips to improve the battery life of your Surge. How are you changing your Surge? We recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger. Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge, and only use the charging cable that came with your tracker.

Hope this helps! Cat Happy
