Surge device won't charge

Cable fits properly into back of watch but does not show connection and doesn't charge device. Purchased product 2015. Also using new cable. 

Any suggestions

was having the same issue - cleaned the connectors (on the watch and the plug) with an alcohol swab and it started charging as soon as I plugged it in.
