I purchased a Fitbit Surge approximately 1 year ago.. I was very excited to buy one, and own a fitness watch.. I was going to purchase an Apple watch, but I decided to get the Fitbit because the Apple watch battery only lasted a day, or two, at the most. The Fitbit Surge lasted approximately a week.
Now I'm having problems with the battery life, the exact reason why I purchased this watch..
Although I had this watch for a little over a year, it has only been used for a week or so. For the past year it has been in it's box, in my desk drawer. I haven't used it because my iPhone 6 has fitness apps installed, although not as good as the Fitbit. Yesterday I took the watch out of it's box with the intention of tracking my run.. I expected the battery to need charging, but when I plugged it in all it did was vibrate. It wouldn't charge. I disconnected the cable, and re-connected it, a number of times, and still it would not charge. I then re-set the watch, and it started charging.. It took about 3 hours for it to reach full charge. 30 minutes after charging it, the battery was dead again.. I performed this cycle a few times.. The watch no longer maintains it's charge.
I am very disappointed in Fitbit. I feel like I just threw away a lot of money on this watch. I understand that the warranty is only for a year, and I see why.. I should have waited until this watch was field tested, before I purchased it.
Is anyone else experiencing problems with the battery life of this watch? This is most likely a design defect, and Fitbit should voluntarily replace these defective watches... Thank You

Hate to say it, but I think this is generally what happens when a rechargeable battery isn't charged. I have a Surge that was replaced last August due to a band issue. I just hooked it to my charger, and it doesn't seem to be charging.
Update: The old Surge seems to have charged after a couple hours. I'll let you know if it holds the charge.
The continuous vibrating may indicate you haven't inserted the charging cord completely.
Only use a USB port on a computer for charging. I've read many of the wall chargers won't work for other devices. I don't know about the Surge.
