Surge stops counting steps when I view the step count

I have a long-standing problem with my Surge where frequently it will stop counting steps if I swipe to see what my current step count is. I see the  count but it will stay stuck there for a while. I usually take 20-30 steps before it updates again and and that point it only gives credit for seven or eight steps. Restarting does not work. Any other ideas?

Hi Don:

I don't have an answer but hopefully someone here will.  I wanted to join your post as my Surge is doing the same thing.  For the first several months I owned my Surge it was fine.  A few weeks ago I noticed that my step count was consistently about 1/2 of what it should be even though my activity level for the day was almost identical.  After watching my Surge closely thereafter, I noticed the exact behavior you've described here.  Hoping for a solution!

It's great to see you around @DMWyatt and @M-111 welcome to the Community!

Regarding to your steps count, have you tried to restart your trackers? If you haven't, I recommend restarting your Surge. After this process, walk 100 steps and let me know how many your devices registered.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy

I don't have a significant step count error over the course of a day. It is
primarily when I view my current step count and it freezes for a while. I
cannot reproduce this at will - it seems if I try to reproduce it it will
almost always work but when I am not expecting it the problem rears it's
ugly head.
