I received my Fitbit Surge as a retirement gift in May 2016. It has served me faithfully for the past 3 years, tracking my running + workouts. In recent weeks it has become almost too unreliable + cumbersome to use. Specific problems:
1. Screen swiping has become difficult - I must swipe many times and it will not regularly shift to the next screen.
2. Syncing with the Fitbit app on my smartphone has become difficult also. I have tried powering down + restarting the Surge, and also deleting and reloading the app, with no improvement.
3. (less important to me than 1 + 2 above) The battery does not hold a charge for as long as it used to - needs more frequent charging than ever.
Are there any recommendations to improve these functions, or is it time to bite the bullet and replace it with another model? I'd prefer to keep what I have, but...
Thanks for your kind advice!

Welcome to the forums!
Sounds like you have done all you can. Mine lasted 3 to 3 1/2 years. Before it bit the dust.
Sometimes doing the restart 3 times in a row helps. Also Clean the contacts for charging
If it doesn't help then its time to let it RIP

My screen swiping also giving me issues and my HR monitor appears to be woefully inaccurate.
Surge is about 3 years old.
Have been advised to update the software via the PC app, and see if it helps. Any idea how to do this?
Thanks
