I've had the surge for about 4 or 5 months now and synced to my Samsung Note 4. Have not had any issues until now. I just recently went on a camping trip and did not have Internet access. 1 day into my trip the surge stoped syncing to my phone. At one point it gave me an error about not being able to access fitbit.com to sync. Not sure why that would matter since they sync through bluetooth, but figured Ok, I'll worry about it when I'm back in civilization. Every now and again while on my trup I would get some mobile service....at least enough to receive texts, which would show up on my surge notifications. It worked otherwise the entire trip, it counted steps and I GPS'D tracked some hikes, it just never synced the data to my phone. Now I'm back in civilization and same thing, won't sync the data. Still gets notifications. I've tried rebooting the phone, turning off the surge, deleting from my bluetooth list, updating the fitbit app, uninstalling the fitbit app and reinstalling. Basically everything except deleting the surge and adding it back, because it stated that any unsynced data would be lost and I really want to sync those GPS tracks. If this is my only option, is there a way to backup that data some other way? Any other ideas? Thanks for any help!

Hey there @TCPhotos! A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. Wow! That's odd. But is not the first time that I heard that a Fitbit starts working until you look for help!
I think that all the troubleshooting steps that you did paid off at the end. I'm happy to know that you're back on track, hopefully you won't have more syncing issues, but in case that you do; next time feel free to restart your tracker and delete it from the Fitbit Account to readd it later on. If the tracker was recording during your workouts, information should be in the memory of your Fitbit; since Fitbit Surge record detailed minute-by-minute data for seven days, and it can store 35 hours of GPS data before deleting some to make room for more.
One more tip, check always for updates in your phone and Fitbit App.
Have an awesome day!

SO apparently the fix was writing this post. After spending a couple hours trying to get it to sync, 30 seconds after deciding to give this a try, it started syncing all of the data........
