I've recently spent two weeks in Colorado.  All of my hikes and bicycle rides are there on my Fitbit page, but the second week is missing.  What might be the problem?

First of all, here are some tips for traveling with your Fitbit tracker:

  • It is safe to take all Fitbit trackers through airport security. The scanning machine will not damage your tracker.
  • Contact your airline to determine if Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) can be used during the flight. Your tracker uses Bluetooth Low Energy, which should be considered safe for most airlines.
  • For charging purposes, we recommend plugging your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or other low-energy device. If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  • Most trackers store up to 7 days of detailed minute-by-minute data. If you wait longer than 7 days (5 days for Alta) before syncing, you may only see the most recent week's detailed data.
  • Summary data (calories, distance, steps, and floors) will be stored for 30 days. If your tracker measures heart rate, summary heart rate data will be stored as well.
  • Remove the wristband before applying bug spray or sunscreen. Chemicals may deteriorate the band.

If you're using the Fitbit app for iOS and traveling between time zones with your tracker, note the following information:

  • To avoid data loss, in the Fitbit app, tap Account and then tap Advanced Settings. Find an option to automatically set your time zone and turn it off. Note that the time on your tracker may not update to reflect the time in your new time zone.
  • To make sure the language in your app does not change, tap Account and then tap Advanced Settings. Tap Country, turn the setting to automatically set your country, and then select the country of your choice.

If you're using the Fitbit app for Android and traveling between time zones with your tracker, in the app settings find Set Automatically and turn off both the timezone and country options. If the timezone and country are set automatically, you may lose data or see your dashboard language change.

Did you make sure about the above?
