A warm welcome to the Community @jeffmets. Have you checked your phone's settings? If you haven't, i recommend checking your phone's settings, keep in mind that your Surge will take the language that your have set on it.

I feel you @jeffmets, I had this trouble last night. However, this sounds very strange to me since the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese languages are not yet available on Surge. Are you seeing a different language on your App or tracker?
Changing the language on your mobile device will change the language in the Fitbit app.
Log into your fitbit.com dashboard. In the lower right corner of the footer you can choose your country. Your fitbit.com dashboard will automatically update to the primary language for the country selected.
