Noticed in a TechCrunch twitter post that the Blaze display shows time and heart rate on the same screen. Is there an issue with processing power or battery life that prevents HR & time together on the Surge?

Hey @RRKPL nice to see you around! The fully charged Blaze should last up to 5 days with continuous heart rate monitoring and activity tracking before needing a recharge. I found this page about the Fitbit Blaze and you can read more about Blaze tracker in this thread: All About Fitbit Blaze.
Let me know if you have any additional question, I'll be around!

A warm welcome to our Fitbit Community family @DaveRun! Thanks for posting your questions here! And sorry for the misunderstanding about the previous answer.
In regards to your inquiry, the thing is that Fitbit Surge has different clock faces to the ones that Fitbit Blaze has. Is not necessarily an issue with the amount of battery that it will take but that this option is not available because they are different designs.
My best suggestion is to place your vote and comments in these requests, if you think that they apply for what you want to have in your Surge: Steps & Heart Rate on Home Scree or Custom clock faces.
The more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.
Hope this helps!
