Were any steps manually logged? Manually logged do not go to challenges.

Hello there @JoeSW! I'd like to know if you're still having issues with your challenge's steps. If you do, besides @WendyB's advice, you may want to try to make sure your tracker is constantly syncing. You can also try to force quit the app to ensure the information is being updated.
