Treadmill gradient

Oddly I cannot find a way to reflect the gradient when I do treadmill. Ran 6.5km at 8.8% so should be able to reflect some 550m in steps. How do I do that?

The Fitbit trackers only count steps and use those as an indication of horizontal distance travelled. There is no facility to do anything with gradient since the system isn't set up to understand the concept or do anything useful with it.
