Hey there @SunsetRunner welcome to the Community! At this time, you will have to choose between using just your Surge or the app (MobileRun) to track GPS.
In case you wear your Surge while using MobileRun (without using your tracker's exercise mode), the steps, active minutes, and calories burned that you see on your Fitbit dashboard come from the tracker. Otherwise your phone is used to calculate this data. During the workout you can view your elapsed distance, time, and average pace as well as use the music controls in the Fitbit app.
Hope this helps! ![]()

Hi Cindy,
Many thanks for your reply. OK, so it's not possible at the moment to switch the app to using the GPS on my Surge in the Exercise section. I wonder if the developers would consider this as a possible development in the future?
Thanks again!
