Hello,
I have searched in this forum and did not seem to come up a complete answer to my question. In trying to set up the device, I went to account options to select my activities. I only have 4 selected, but of the 16 options listed, treadmill walking was not one of them. Is there a way to add the treadmill into the options? I am not allowed to run, so the walking is an imperative for me.
Thanks,
Jake

Best AnswerHi, @jake7363 , by default, if you choose "walk" for your exercise it will launch GPS, which obviously you do not want. Instead, select "Run" and you will be able to choose "Treadmill run". This will not launch GPS. When it syncs to your activity log you can either leave it at treadmill run (since you know that for you run means walk) or you can change the name to walk.
Either way you should get accurate stats of pace, distance, time, HR, etc.

I hpe you have fun!
I also own a new pricey fitbit Blaze. Like many others I am mystified why this very expensive piece of tech is so astandingly inaccurate on a tread mill run. I run 5 and 10 km runs on a treadmill regularly.
Have noted the fitbit generally understates run distanceby 80% no matter wha treadmill I use..
I am very dissapointed by fitbits lack of concrete action to resolve and get in front of this issue.
A bit of candid disclosure would go a long way ...if there are techincal challenges to accurately measure they need to share it. I see some have references to arm swings being the criteria. Is this true ?
And what is this nonsense about not pairing with standard treadmill blue tooth interface ...I want my monet back. Fitbit ? Hello ?

Best Answer@JKF007 , most people find that if they walk or run on a treadmill holding on to the sides the Fitbit is not accurate. I have not tested this myself, because hanging on to the sides on the treadmill is really not a good way of working out. I actually find it is very accurate on the treadmill, but these thngs do vary person to person.
I don't thnk there is a "standard treadmill bluetooth interface". Certainly my Garmin HR monitor wouldn't pair with the treadmills at my gym.
If you bought your Blaze directly from Fitbit they have a 45 day return policy so it should not be a problem getting your money back, but you will need to contact Customer Support directly (help.fitbit.com ) If you bought it from another store you will need to consult their policy.
