I walk golf regularly weather permitting. 4 rounds per week in the summer. Since I live in Ohio I was happy to get in rounds in January and February. But after the initial round in January the golf exercise changed to time only. No heart monitor, no GPS! Why does a 3 to 4 hours exercise walking an average of 6 to 7 miles while also working core muscles swinging a club not rate heartbeat tracking and GPS? Why was it changed?

I thought I had tried this but maybe not...
In the app go to accounts, surge, exercise shortcuts... swipe golf right to left then delete it. Hit + exercise shortcut and re-add golf. Then force a sync... GPS and HR have returned!
I will see if they stay but for others with this issue on golf or another activity ... delete, re-add then sync.

Hi, @jgwyther, there has been no change, and the Golf exercise shortcut on your Surge should definitely include GPS and heartrate monitoring.
When you select "Golf" you should see both the satellite symbol and the heart symbol. I have just checked this on my Surge.
Do you not see this on your Surge or are you saying this information does not sync to your app?

I agree with the poster. No hr or gps on my surge under golf. I just use walk or free run for my golf outings.

That is what I did. But I walk most days during lunch and it makes sense to keep them separated for tracking purposes.

I am totally puzzled by this. My Surge shows both HR and GPS for Golf. I will try to post some screen shots tomorrow.
It would helpful if others could post what they are seeing on their Surge under the Golf shortcut so we can see what might be going on.

I no long see the hr or gps symbols and they do not activate when golf is selected all I get is a timer.
