call notifications work but texts do not

I set up my Surge notifications in accordance with instructions but only call notifications are working on the watch. Does anyone have any recommendations or troubleshooting for this issue?

did you try to restart your surge?

I have Message+ (Verizon text app) and a new Fitbit Surge I bought today... the text feature is not working. I reverted to stock android S6 messenger and that also does not work (i have already done the resetting, pair again, Un pair, delete, hokey-pokey etc restart blah blah) and nothing is working to be able to read my texts on the fitbit. I paid a lot of money for this device and I got it because of this feature over other devices. Why can't this issue seem to be corrected or addressed. I have been reading troubleshooting and threads since September with no resolution. Has ANYONE fixed this and perhaps I missed an article? Mine only says "1 new message" but is not readable/clickable.

@Anna1118 I have tried that several times.  I was having swipe issues, as well, but the restart seems to resolve that when that happens.  However, it has not corrected the text notification problem.
