calories burned surge ?

what is your experience with calories burned vs calories eaten ? i exersise a LOT and sometimes get close to 5000 calories. i sometimes feel like its not accurate but then again i exersie so much.. any thoughts ?

Fitbit determines your BMR with the Mifflin-St. Jeor formula (or something close enough). You can check it with this online calculator. Assuming you are 20, your BMR (as a 5’3/101 female) would be 1197. The highest activity level in the calculator (Extreme / Very hard exercise 6-7 days a week) would put your daily expenditure at 2275. That’s a lot lower than the 5000 you say your Surge reports.

 

What number did you get for calories burned on Feb-19, your lowest activity day during the past 30 days ("only" 17,800 steps)?
