incorrect reading after bike ride

Hi. I am new to surge I used it for a bike ride a couple of days ago and it was perfect. But I have just been out on my road bike this morning and my bike computer confirmed I did 16 miles in 1hr 5mins average speed of 15mph max of 30mph. However when I get home and check my surge and sync it, it says I have walked 7.43 miles with an average pace of 9 min miles. How do I fix this and make sure it doesn't happen again.

How did you get the bike ride recorded? Did you select bike and hit start or did you let it auto-record? I would recommend for an intentional exercise you manually start the exercise.  It sounds like it didn't recognize you were bike riding, so it tried to count steps and then calculate distance.

As to how to fix it, I would go into the log and log a bike ride for the exact same time, then delete the recorded "walk".  Problem with that is you will lose any GPS data (if you had any).

I am sure I selected bike ride, I waited for the God to get a signal and then started. But what you said regarding calculating distance etc has me think I might have mistakenly selected walk instead of bike. I will try again in a day or two and make sure I select bike. Hopefully it was me at error and not the surge. Thanks for your help.
