IMG_3323.JPG

the GPS symbol disappeared and not I can not track my golf games. It was working fine the whole time till this morning. I have shut down the surge to reset and removed the golf excercize and added it back and nothing is working.

Can you advise why?

The following steps should help with getting the Golf exercise shortcut on your Surge to display on-device fitness stats:

1. Remove the Golf exercise from your Surge's shortcuts. Click here for instructions.

2. Sync your tracker.

3. Re-add Golf to your Surge.

4. Sync again.

Keep me posted if this helps!

It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community @MrRude! Welcome to the Forums. Thanks for adding the picture, that's odd! Have you tried restarting your Surge a couple of times in row. I'd also would try to reconnect it as a replacement device. By going to your Fitbit App > Account > Set up a device. Smiley Embarassed

Hopefully, it works as there isn't a reason why it is acting in this way. If not contact Customer Support so they can further assist you.

I'll be waiting for your reply! Smiley Wink

Yep, exact same thing has happened to mine!

I reset it, changed the excercise options, removing golf then re-sync, then add golf and re-sync. Nothing has fixed it. I will try the re register device, but I don't like the chances......hmmmmm

It's great to see you participating in our Community @SOS79! Thanks for the feedback. That's kind of strange, I haven't heard more case similar to this one, so if you try that and it doesn't work; it'd be best to contact Customer Support, so they can further investigate your case.

Please keep me posted, I'll be around! Smiley Happy

I've noticed the same thing today while trying to set up the surge before a round. Looks very much like it's been changed by Fitbit during an update as my friend who I was playing with had the same problem on his surge.

Best Answer

Ihave had the same experience and have sent a message to Customer Support, this appears to be a common problem which will require a 'fix'?

Best Answer

I also have the problem with the surge, as does my friend with the surge, clearly something fitbit have done.

Best Answer

I have the same problem.  Bothe the GPS and Heartrate have gone from the Golf exercise.  Something has been changed by Fitbit??

Best Answer

Same Problem here, used the GPS on the golf a lot in the last 6 months and the feature is one of the main reasons why I chose the Fitbit Surge. I contacted the Support team via chat and after a lengthy discussion and talking with 3 different support reps they eventually advised me that it is a known issue and the engineers are working on the problem. No other specific information was available...so no idea what the problem is or when they will fix it. I assume an update to the app removed the feature at some stage but I am guessing.

I experienced this problem yesterday. The last time I had used the excersize mode was two weeks ago.  I had no problems.

I have restarted my Surge twice, removed the golf quick link, then re-added it. Still having the issue.

Best Answer

So I got with the Customer Service via Twitter and they are aware of the issue.  They are working on the issue and told me that we ought to be able to still use the work out mode.

Best Answer

Hi, Work Out Mode, interesting response, there isnt GPS on the workout mode so it isnt going to track your distance. I guess we wait until they fix it.

Hello guys! Thanks for sharing your experiences and comments about this issue. We as a team really appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry for the inconvenience as @Mikegillett said, this is a recent bug that affects the Golf shortcut on Surge. Fitbit is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime, I would suggest to use either "Workout" or "Walk" so you don't miss your steps during your golfing, this is a workaround until we receive the information on how to fix the bug.

I appreciate your understanding! Robot Happy

This worked for me.  Thanks Derrick.

Unfortunately, golf activity has disappeared from selections and replaced with 'auto selections'.
me and the 60million other regular golfers would like it back please.

Hey there, @welmat! Welcome to the Family! Thanks for sharing your feedback. I would like to confirm with you, if you're getting back the option "Golf" after following the suggestions that @DerrickS posted above. If so, would you mind to clarify the "auto selections" information. I'll be more than glad to help you with this.

@Buster_Bob Thanks for the update! I'm glad to know that this worked for you. Smiley Happy

That fixed mine as well, but it is disconcerting that everyones Surge seems to have experienced the same issue in such a short timespan. Can you elaborate on the root cause?

Best Answer

Derrick,

I had tried this before and it had not worked. I decided to give it another try, and now the GPS symbol and the heart rate symbol are displayed. I won't be golfing for another week, so I will report back when I have given it a try.
