surge stopped syncing through Windows in April 2018

Hi,

 

I have had my Surge for nearly 3 years. Starting now (April 2018), it refuses to sync via Windows. I also cannot download the fitbit connect Windows app - the process errors-out and says to try again later, but provides no other reasons or clue regarding the source of error.

 

I do have Windows 7, but have had no syncing trouble until now.

 

Has anyone successfully downloaded the fitbitconnect app on Windows 7?

i also think the number of "stored days" onboard the Surge without sync may be part of the problem.

My surge is not sinking. The message that "they" are trying to resolve issue keeps coming up on screen. How long has this been an issue?
