Just got a second hand surge and am unable to to sync.
I am using windows 10 and windows phone, I have tried both the windows 10 app and PC software installing each with the dongle plugged in (but not installed at the same time). neither my phone nor my laptops built in blue tooth allow syncing despite both showing connected (not at the same time).
I only have one bluetooth device switched on at a time, either phone, laptop or laptop with dongle inserted into usb port.
I can sync over usb
I have tried reseting (home button + select button at the same time for 20s, wait 10s on screen off, then press home button).
I have tried in bluetooth classic on and off modes.
I have tried everything I can think of now. I was hoping to be able to skip music track while at work so i didn't have to take my phone out of my pocket.
oh the version is 16.34.5.14
also whats the difference between walk and hike. I have an hours round walk to the shop, easy going there due to nothing in my bag, but harder coming back due to a heavy bag - is just simply the weight of ones rucksack?

Thank you for joining us @orac! Since you already tried all the steps to make your tracker sync and the issue persists, I recommend contacting Support, they have the proper tools to find the source of this.
The difference between walk and hike is when you walk in a you're going up. This will give you credit for the steps you walk and the effort of going up.
Hope this helps.

Sorry for that @Maxchat! Hiking is a long walking especially in the country or wilderness. You may experience different elevations during this activity and of course it requires more effort.
I hope this helps.
