 hi my friend gave me her old fit bit . I cant seem to sync it to my phone. is that because she still has it registered on her phone still thanks

It could be. As well as deleting the app, she should remove any connection to the fitbit in her phone's bluetooth settings as this could be blocking connection to your phone.
