Hopefully this FAQ will provide guidance on how integrations with Fitbit generally work. Robot Happy

 

HOW DO I KNOW IF AN APP IS COMPATIBLE WITH FITBIT?
There are tons of apps that use our Open API to integrate their service with ours. The best way to tell if an app is compatible with Fitbit is to go to the third party site (or app) and poke around their settings to see if you can connect Fitbit. You can also browse their site for information or contact the app owner and ask if they integrate with Fitbit.

 

HOW CAN I TELL WHAT SYNCS BETWEEN FITBIT AND {app}?

Unless it's documented somewhere, it's hard to tell unless you actually use the integration. There's a few places you can see what the app has access to. Keep in mind that 'access' to something (e.g. sleep, weight) doesn't necessarily mean they use or sync that data, it largely depends on how they built their integration.

WHY DOESN'T FITBIT UPDATE THE {app} INTEGRATION AND ADD MORE FUNCTIONALITY?

Fitbit doesn't own or maintain third party integrations. It's up to the owner of the third party app to implement or update features for their app. Unless there's some sort of limitation on Fitbit's side (e.g. no Fitbit SDK), then it's safe to assume that the owner of the app is the one to contact if you're interested in seeing the integration improved.

 

WHAT IF FITBIT AND {app} AREN'T SYNCING?

The most standard troubleshoot across all integrations is to unlink the connection from both sides (Fitbit and third party side), then link the accounts again. In the rare case that it's a Fitbit-side issue, more than just one particular app will be affected. It's usually best to contact the app owner if an integration seems broken.
