Blaze workouts sync to runkeeper/runtastic

I have had the blaze for a while now but have noticed that when I log a workout using my blaze it doesn't sync to runkeeper/runtastic? Is there a way if I track a run with my blaze that it will sync to runkeeper/runtastic?

Hi @klierkay,

Unfortunately there currently is not a Runtastic/Fitbit integration, but there is a one-way integration with Runkeeper and Fitbit. Your Fitbit data can sync to Runkeeper but not the other way around.

Click here for instructions on how to connect your Runkeeper and Fitbit accounts.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Is there an integration in the works? Considering it's one of the most popular running apps I'm a little surprised you don't have one yet....

To add to @DerrickS's answer, Fitbit does not have control over your Runtastic data. Runtastic has decided not to share your data with Fitbit.. Fitbit is unable to take the data, they are able to receive what Runtastic would be willing to share.

Two points:

1. Runtastic offers no automated way to import or export. Its a comletely closed service. There are hacks to export activities, but none to import.

2. Fitbit is semi-open (see below). Most Fitbit-to-something else integrations only send daily totals (e.g. total steps for the day, weight) to the other service. There are only two I've used that go beyond and exchange activities:

- Strava

- Endomondo

Fitbit-to-Strava is one-way, from Fitbit to Strava, and allows you to log a GPS bike ride using Blaze, and it is sent to Strava. I haven't used it because my rides are recorded with Garmin GPS bike computer, as Fitbit doesn't integrate with speed, cadence, and power sensors that I have on my bike. It might work for runs recorded on Blaze, I don't run and haven't tried it.

Endomondo-to-Fitbit is one-way, sending your Endomondo activity/workout to Fitbit as an activity. Unfortunately Fitbit limits activity import to just the essentials - start time, duration, calories, and distance. Fitbit does not allow heart rate or maps or other data to be imported. As mentioned above, I use Garmin GPS bike computer and it syncs with a lot of services, I use it to send rides to TrainingPeaks, RideWithGPS, MapMyFitness, and Endomondo. And that means Endomondo sends it to Fitbit (but without the map, cadence, and heart rate).

Fitbit-to-Endomondo is one-way, sending your daily Fitbit stats to Endomondo. And in Endomondo there is  a new Workout Statistics graph that charts your Fitbit daily stats: total duration, total calories, total distance, total workouts. And a new "average steps" statistic on steps chart.

The other integrations I've used are:

Fitbit-to-MyFitnessPal only sends a) daily steps/calories, and b) weight to MyFitnessPal. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, just looked at MFP and only see weight updates, but I stopped using MFP years ago.

Fitbit-to-Runkeeper only sends a) daily steps/calories, and b) weight to Runkeeper. For example last night Fitbit sent "burned 1,850 calories and took 18,303 steps over 1 day" to my Runkeeper feed - that info is not integrating into Runkeeper at all. Integration is practically useless, unless you have Aria scale.

Hope that helps.

Please see. https://www.fitbit.com/partnership

Now bring your request to rintastic, Fitbit has opened it's API to other apps and encourages them to partner with Fitbit.

Connecting a third party app to fitbit is up to the third party, not Fitbit who has all ready given them the blessing to do so.

Run keeper all ready has setup a connection, now it is up to Runtastic to do the same and connect to the number one fitness tracking company.

I'm moving this thread to the third party app area, it has nothing to do with the type of tracker being used.. Moving it will open the thread up to more people that might also be interested.

I have viewed the instructions but nowhere on my runkeeper go app do I see a magnifying glass that allows me to find my connected apps. Please help.

On the website, click on Settings (upper right hand corner) and then click on Applications from the menu on the left.  You should see a list of applications you've authorized to interact with Fitbit along with options to either invoke or revoke access.

I'm not sure you can access this through the app - at least I couldn't find it on the Android App.
