Calories seem to disappear after syncing (or logging manually)

So does anyone know why burned calories seem to reduce when activities sync from strava? If anything I would expect it to be more as most of time it actually adds steps and miles to what Fitbit has already logged. This seems to happen for manually added activities that I add to Fitbit too.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @superakcraig! This happens when you add activities that your tracker already recorded or you manually logged. I recommend logging your activities whether Strava or Fitbit but not both. This will override your information.

I hope this clarifies your inquiry.

Thanks @SunsetRunner it helps some....but....the main reason I had linked my Fitbit and my Strava is because I have found the Fitbit to be inaccurrate regarding steps and distance.  When walking 3 miles with Strava, I only get credit for @ 2.2 or 2.3 miles.  I have updated my stride length and nothing seems to work.  The strange thing is my wife gets the same inaccuracy.

The only way I have found to get that measurement right is by syncing my Strava but as I mentioned, it removes calories.

Guess I have to settle for the lesser of two inaccuracies...calorie calculation or distance (steps)....hmmm
