Do I need Fitbit App in order to integrate my tracker with a third party app?

Hi, 

If I download a third party application do I still need fitbit app on my phone in order to sync the data of my fitbit tracker or is this done by the third party application?

Hi @fitUserMel, a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response to your question if is require to have the Fitbit app to sync with a third party account.

In this case, note that your tracker will only sync to your Fitbit account and not to the third party service or app. So if you are going to use a third party app, is your Fitbit account the one that connects with the app in question.

Many thanks for your response. 

I would use my app but with the login credentials from fitbit as described here

However, what I am not sure... If I have an app from a third party which uses the authentication via fitbit do I then need additional to the third party app need the fitbit mobile app installed to sync my data with fitbit?
