Fitbit Inspire 3 syncing TOO MUCH to Strava

I see endless questions here about Fitbit not syncing with various apps including Strava.

I have exactly the opposite problem: my Fitbit is automatically creating exercises just when I walk out to my car and back or something, then it syncs that to Strava!!  It's super-annoying to have all these short, bogus "walks" showing up in my Strava feed.

I modified my Fitbit settings in the app (Android) to change "Activity Detection" for walks from 5 minutes to 20 minutes, but it still detects short (6 or 7 minute) walks as "activities" and sends them to Strava.  Then I disabled "Activity detection" altogether, but no difference: it still detects short walks, starts an activity in my fitbit (which is annoying on its own), then syncs that walk to Strava.

How do I stop this?

I'm not sure if I have the answer you want. From your user manual.

Automatically start a workout
Turn on auto-start to automatically start the Exercise app when your watch recognizes a walk,
run, bike ride, elliptical, rowing, or spinning workout. To turn this setting o
1. Open the Exercise app .
2. Tap the Bike, Elliptical, Rowing, Run, Spinning, or Walk option.
3. Swipe up and turn on Auto Start. The next time your watch detects this workout type,
the Exercise app automatically opens. To automatically detect when your workout ends,
you can also turn on Auto Stop.
Note that if you leave this setting off, basic stats about your walks, runs, and bike rides are s
recorded in the Fitbit app.

What I'm confused, is that only GPS recorded exercises are supposed to be sent to Strava. With auto detect off we are told that only basic stats (no gps) will be recorded.

Are you seeing maps of your walk?
