Fitbit + MyFitnessPal - data not transfering

My Fitbit app is linked to MyFitnessPal but the data are not transferring. I thought that MFP was supposed to grab step and food data from Fitbit and Fitbit was supposed to grab food data from MFP? The apps are showing as linked. I even tried uninstalling MFP from my phone and reinstalling but the data are not transferring. Any ideas how to fix this?

Try these steps, it just worked for me:

I disconnected each app from the other from the websites, not the apps, then re-linked them through the MFP app. MFP instructed me to log food only through MPF because then it will transfer to fitbit, but food logged through fitbit will not transfer to MFP (exercise will, apparently).
