Fitbit & Sparkpeople not syncing on random days

I was able to connect Fitbit and Sparkpeople the other day.  My current data is syncing fine.  However, I wanted to go back and get the data for all the previous days since I got my Fitbit, so I would have accurate data for the year.  I started going back, day by day, on the Sparkpeople Fitness Tracker and syncing, and was doing fine until I hit 7/16 ~ and no data would come over.  Same for 7/15 and 7/14.  Then syncing went fine until 7/1.  No problems syncing the entire month of June, but then I encountered the same issue on 5/25, 5/24, 5/23, 5/22, and 5/21...when I stopped.  When I would navigate away from the page on which I was trying to sync and come back to try again, the button to click to sync was gone, as if the sync had already occurred.  But there's no data.  Just a bunch of zeroes.

I had been communicating with the Sparkpeople tech team, and they say that no data came over from Fitbit on those days, and they have not been able to figure out why not.  There is data showing up in my dashboard, so obviously there is data that could sync, if it were working correctly.

Has anyone experienced this random sync issue with Sparkpeople before?  Can you think of a reason why it isn't working on certain days?  Is there an issue on the Fitbit side that could be causing this?

Thanks!

@ladyofthewood It's nice to have you here! It's weird that you're not seeing all that data in your Dashboard. Fitbit data will sync instantaneously. However, it seems that you're trying to see information from previous months when your accounts weren't linked; I don't think you're going to get that information.

Is all your information showing properly in your account now? Have you had this issue again? If this has happened again then please unlink and relink both accounts. Currently, I don't have any news about issues with Sparkpeople.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Silvia ~

Once the connection has been established between Fitbit and Sparkpeople, there is a way to go back in the Sparkpeople fitness tracker and manually sync with Fitbit, even for dates prior to the date the connection was initially made.  However, the tech support at Sparkpeople said that there was a limit to the number of days' data that Fitbit would allow me to sync at one time.  I'm not exactly sure how much is "too much," nor were they, but it explains why, once I hit a snag in syncing on a particular day, I couldn't sync for any other day either.  So I've just limited the number of previous days I try to sync.

Yeah, it's a weird problem, and I don't suppose many people would care to go back and try to get data for previous days, but since Sparkpeople provides a way to do that, I was just trying to fill in the gaps.  Going forward, everything is syncing fine.  It takes a little longer for the minutes to come over, but it's total steps and mileage I am most concerned about, and that is working seamlessly!  I'm glad I finally discovered I could connect the two!

Thanks!
