MyFitnessPal is currently working to resolve an issue that prevents some users to sync their data to them. In addition to the instructions shared here,  you can give a try to the troubleshooting steps provided on MyFitnessPal web site.

Thanks for your support @EvilMogwai @Rich_Laue.

After installing the latest IOS update yesterday, Fitbit and MyFitness Pal will not sync.  Anyone else having similar issues?

Best Answer

Hello @MTyH your Charge4 will never sync with MFP or any other apps. MFP syncs with your Fitbit account, and not with your Fitbit app.

I suggest opening the fitbit app - account - Third Party Apps - Manage Apps. Revoke MFP and then through MFP set the link up.

I've also moved the post to the Third Party Apps board.

Rich,

Actually, MFP receives steps and exercise from FitBit and Fitbit receives meal information from MFP.  Already tried the tip, it didn't work.  Thanks.

Best Answer

@MTyH then what is not syncing?

Best Answer

MFP is not receiving steps and exercises from Fitbit.  Some of the information is coming over in MFP on the browser, but nothing in the MFP app.

That didn't work. It hasn't been working a few days, I can't even go back and log the information manually into fitbit because for some reason you don't give the option to change the date.

For me MFP is no longer receiving my step data, and fitbit isn't getting my calorie data. And I can't even go back and add the calories manually for the days the app didn't sync because the calorie app is about as useful as the period tracker.

I tried searching for the MFP app in the compatible apps section, it isn't there.

Have fitbit slyly cut that connection and seemingly not told anyone, including MFP?

I'm not sure if it applies in this case but several owner of Garmin and Polar are complaining in the last couple of days about issues of communication with MFP

I just now noticed that FB is not getting any of my calorie data except for 15 calories today, which is weird because I logged that 15-calorie item with several other items at the same time.

AND I just noticed that in my MFP app, it's not even showing that my FB account is connected anymore.  WTH

@SunsetRunner then follow the instructions above to reconnect the two accounts.

This still isn't working. MFP ran an update earlier this week that caused issues that have now been resolved. I've reinstalled MFP and relinked the accounts but the information is still not feeding back into Fitbit correctly.

Best Answer

Fitbit does not handle this sync, if you are still having issues. You will need to reach out to MFP.

I just tried that and it didn't work for me either

This is happening to me too, I have tried the revoke and re-connect between MFP and Fitbit but it is not appearing in Fitbit. MFP thinks it’s connected but Fitbit doesn’t recognise it.
I have updated Fitbit and logged in and out of both accounts.

When you contacted MFP, did they get back to you?

This is something MFP will need to take care of.

Happened to me and on doing some research it's because MFP now want everyone to allow them not only to access but to write everything to our fitbit app! Absolutely infuriating. I do not want them writing to my fitbit!

You have to go into apps in MFP and reconnect to fitbit. When you do they ask you to allow all. You can select just food and water but then it doesn't work so you are forced to accept all!

I wish Fitbit would have a word with them or something. Surely they don't want MFP writing to everyone's accounts. Ugh.

This won't work anymore. MfP are forcing us all to allow them to access and write to our whole account with you. Can something be done?

They are forcing us to give them permission to access and write to -

Profile

Food and water logs

Activity and exercise

Friends

Fitbit devices and settings

Weight

Sleep.

I'm sure most people do not want this. Please help.

Did everything sync for today correctly? I've approved all and it's still only syncing the first item of each meal.

Best Answer

I have only logged my breakfast calories, and all breakfast items were synched.
