Hello,
I really like my Fitbit(s) for tracking normal activity and light workouts, but for intense workouts the HR sensor leaves much to be desired (I've tried every tip I've read about: band tightness, arm positioning, etc, and none of them are more than temp fixes at best). Because of this shortcoming I'm considering using a chest strap monitor to collect accurate HR data during intense workouts when having super-accurate data is most crucial (especially after having suffered 2 heart attacks by age 40). Of course no chest strap HR monitors will feed data directly to the Fitbit app, but the one I'm considering does feed data to a few apps that are syncable with the Fitbit app (Strava, for instance).
Will the Fitbit app pull the HR data during those sessions and integrate it in to the Fitbit app for use in calorie burning, active minutes, etc? Or am I either stuck with inaccurate data, or even having to migrate to a completely different fitness tracking ecosystem?

Came here to pretty much type the same thing. I love everything about the fitbit, the app, the device accept that it does not track my heart rate at all or well when I'm working out. I'm redlining it, and I check my app later and I see my heart rate hasn't gone above 105! I've also tried everything, keeping it tight, getting the sports band, but to no avail. I really think allowing third party integration with a heart chest strap is the way to go for tracking heart rate above and beyond walking. Anyone suggest another product?
