I use both Fitbit and Lose It. In the past, at the end of the day, Fitbit would update Lose It on exercise calories I had been given credit for. I assumed it was based on how much I exceeded my calorie goal for the day which has remained a fairly constant 2826. I was usually able to exceed this number by taking more than 5000 steps and having some Very Active Minutes.
I've noticed that something has changed in the last week or two. Numbers which always got me exercise credit on Lose It were not appearing and I was having a hard time hitting my calorie goal of the day.
Here are some examples:
Date | Steps | Floors | Distance | Calories Burned | VA Minutes | Exercise Calories to Lose It |
7/26/2014 | 9100 | 7 | 4.31 | 2975 | 36 | 245 |
7/27/2014 | 8574 | 7 | 4.06 | 2914 | 36 | 184 |
7/28/2014 | 4706 | 9 | 2.23 | 2604 | 0 | 0 |
7/29/2014 | 9033 | 9 | 4.28 | 2973 | 27 | 249 |
7/30/2014 | 8909 | 5 | 4.22 | 2958 | 38 | 234 |
7/31/2014 | 6555 | 7 | 3.1 | 2958 | 16 | 234 |
In August the calculations are different
8/1/2014 | 6294 | 9 | 2.98 | 2790 | 9 | 0 |
8/2/2014 | 9762 | 9 | 4.62 | 2996 | 33 | 123 |
8/3/2014 | 8044 | 26 | 3.81 | 2818 | 38 | 0 |
8/4/2014 | 8612 | 5 | 4.08 | 2893 | 37 | 20 |
8/5/2014 | 7715 | 7 | 3.68 | 2819 | 31 | 0 |
8/6/2014 | 5041 | 8 | 2.39 | 2625 | 11 | 0 |
8/7/2014 | 3586 | 4 | 1.7 | 2456 | 0 | 0 |
8/8/2014 | 9618 | 6 | 4.55 | 3015 | 34 | 150 |
In July
8574 steps and 36 minutes of VAM got me 184 exercise calories to Lose It.
6555 steps and 16 minutes of VAM got 234 exercise calories to Lose It
In Aug
8612 steps and 37 minutes of VAM got 20.
8044 steps and 38 minutes of VAM got 0.
Can someone explain what changed or am I missing something.
Thanks

@Botanyboy I appreciate the time that you took to provided us with all those details. Fitbit will sync just calories burn to LoseIt so Very Active Minutes won't sync. I went to check LoseIt and it seems that you get a "Calorie bonus" when you burn more calories than LoseIt is expecting you to burn; based on the information that you provided as an example on 7/26/2014 you burned 2975 so it gave you 245 calorie bonus, on 8/1/2014 you burned 2790 as you can see it's less than 7/26 so it didn't give you calorie bonus. You can find more information about it here If you feel that you're not getting enough calories bonus or it's not syncing properly, you can contact LoseIt to see if something has changed on their end.
