Import weight data from other app (eg. Clue)

Hi all:)

I've been using Clue for quite a while to record my weight, skin condition, menstrual phase, etc.  I record my weight on that app almost everyday and it would sync such data right away with Apple Health, which I've thought as a good way to watch and control my weight and diet.  However, I found that the Fitbit device/app, as though it could connect with Clue and share some data with it, could not read any of my weight record or input from the app.

I have to admit that it disappoints me a bit.  Now I have to input the same figure of my weight twice on my phone for different apps (Clue and Fitbit).  Is it just me missing something in the setup or the Fitbit app, or that the Fitbit app really is not able to get weight data synchronized/imported from Clue?

Normally  @Nereid, w8th this type of questions i go to my friend google and type in fitbit followed by the second app or website.  I gives me this blog on Clue.

One thing to realize sbout third party apps and Fitbit is that they are responsible for their own connection. They chose what is going to sync between them and Fitbit.

You might want to ask Clue this question. Generally once they are linked things from your point work, and if they are not working correctly your encouraged to ask the third party.

I have moved your post out of the hardware forum into the Third Party Forum where their will ne a better chance of hetting a response.

Hi Rich, thanks for the reply and suggestions.

I've gone through the previous five pages of googled results with the
keywords combination including "fitbit clue sync" or "fit bit third party
sync." And those include the blog too.

However what I was curious about is why Fitbit does not allow info to be
synchronized "from a third-party app," instead of the info sync "from
Fitbit to other apps (which, as you mentioned, maybe belongs into the scope
for the 3rd-party apps to work on)."

I am not sure if Fitbit wants to make its users to record/track everything
on Fitbit and only on Fitbit, but it is just not the way some people use
this app.

Fitbit does allow third party apps to send their data to your fitbit account, but it is up to them to do the sending.

I can send a text message with my weight to IFTTT and the weight gets dropped into my Fitbit account

Myfitnesspal sends activity, food and weight to Fitbit.

For a list of what a few of the apps sync go here.. This is up to what the third party spp wants to do.

Hi, Rich, thank you for clarification.

It does help to find such a list of apps that are allowed to send data over
to Fitbit, though it's a bit sad to find that the Clue app has not enabled
its data to be sent to Fitbit.

There are more apps at Fitbit.com/apps but even this is not complete since Fitbit does not insist on being notified when an app connects to fitbit.
