Good Morning. I have recently got a Fitbit Charge HR to aid me in my quest to become healthier. I have been using MyFitnessPal for the past 6 months with pleasing results. I have linked my Fitbit with the MyFitnessPal app. But i am kind of confused by the adjustment made to my calories given back on MFP. For example, yestrday i was given an adjustment of 1436 extra calories which seems pretty big to me. I wasn't able to get to the gym yesterday so there was no adjustment there. I did approx 14000 steps and 20 flights of stairs. So i was wondering, am i right in thinking this adjustement is to much.
I have checked my settings in fitbit, such as age, weight and stride and things look ok.
Many thanks for any help offered.

Hello @NeilA and welcome aboard to our community. Note that your calories are not only controlled by your exercise. There is another important factor which is the BMR and is almost the half of calories you burned in a day. The calorie burn you are seeing is the result of both the steps you've taken, as well as your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). For more information about this you can read this article that will explained better how the calories are burned: How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?
Also there is a great post from one of our users that might give you a different perspective. Take a moment to read the post "here" from my friend @SebringDon.
Keep me posted and see ya' around.
