Was able to down load fitbit onto kindle but can't get it to sync with kindle-it used to.???:(

Hi there @gghunt! Kindle is a non supported device, you can check here. This is due to a Bluetooth incompatibility. What could have happened is that your compatible phone or computer was near and helped to sync the tracker.
