I am looking for an app/solution basically that will work with my Fitbit Charge and will help me navigate my Heart Rate during runs (help control HR, customize interval HR target zones, provide feedback of some kind).
I will say that while I have enjoyed my Charge in the last week or so I have had some issues with not being able to track my running like I need to. It has the HR sensor and the stopwatch feature, but trying to do a HIT run where you change pace every 1-3min and fluctuate/maintain HR zones is tough without live feedback. I looked through supported apps to find one that would help this and was unable to find one. The one I was going to get is Motifit and this is not supported by a fitbit (just Apple). For this reason and just simply an upgrade I have been researching Apple Watches and trying to decide if that would be a better route. Does anyone know of a setup/app that can support this?
IE: I go into an app and set it to run 5min at 135-150bpm, then 3min at 155-165bpm, and then 1min at 170-180bpm. Hit start and it says "begin 5min - 135-150bpm" and if I am at only 130 or over it at 155 it lets me know. or maybe just reads me my HR every 10sec. Then at 4:50 it says "3min at 155-165bpm in 3,2,1..go", Something like that.
**"tough without feedback" - having to look at my Charge every 10-15 seconds over 30min, scrolling back and forth between HR and the stopwatch, trying to control HR and monitor time, for a workout that I basically have to remember and keep up with, all while running/gasping for air lol.
Thanks for any help!!!

Hello @mthicks, good to see you have joined to our Fitbit Community. I was reading your post and it seems your running exercise is a very complex activity due to the change of pace you described. I think your Charge HR is capable to read all your information and your activity, but it wont facilitate the way you want to visualize your exercise.
Your information will be available on your Dashboard as soon you finish your running, but it wont allow you to configure different paces during time intervals and notify you if you are not hitting your heart rate zones.
I'm not able to tell if the Applewatch is capable to do this, since I haven't got the chance to test one and is important to remember that both devices has different technologies to make a comparison between a smartwatch against a fitness device.
Although your comment are very interesting and If this is something in which you're interested, please I would like you to post this idea in our Feature Suggestion Board. This is a great way to let us know what you'd like to see in the future!
Here are some ideas that might be of your interest too:
- Vibration alerts for heart rate zones.
- Add interval training timer.
See you around and thank you for your feedback!
